Cancer research is the largest area of study within the Trust and we are very proud to be able to provide ground-breaking clinical trials to patients throughout North Yorkshire.
The Trust hosts dedicated Oncology & Haematology Research Teams at York and Scarborough Hospitals. With a depth of specialist knowledge of cancer treatment including chemotherapy support and end of life care our research teams provide the highest standard of care to the research participants we look after.
Our research includes some of the latest developments in chemotherapy, cancer detection, cancer support and cancer surgery.
Working in collaboration with the Leeds Cancer Centre at St James Hospital we are also ale to offer our patients the opportunity to participate in some of the largest radiotherapy trials.
We host a very large portfolio of interventional and observational trials that are on offer to patients all across North Yorkshire, including Phase II and III trials which assess some of the very latest and most exciting breakthroughs in cancer treatment.
The Trust attracts a lot of interest from within the industry and we host a large, growing portfolio of commercial trials that covers cancers of most types treated within the Trust.
