Haematology Research

Reserach & Development_113Haematology research looks at improving the treatment for blood related disorders and illnesses, this can include haematological cancers such as leukaemia and myeloma as well as other blood related conditions such as haemophilia and other bleeding disorders.

We are proud to be able to offer our patients some of the latest innovations in haematology treatments including some of the latest chemotherapy and radiotherapy treatments.

As a diagnostic service the Haematology department also provides excellent support to research studies throughout all areas of the Trust and works in collaboration with the Haematological Malignancy Diagnostic Service (HMDS) at Leeds St James Hospital.
